| Fourty Winks Herbal Eye Pillow Great for going to sleep and really nice to use for taking a nap during the day. The herbs in this recipe combine two relaxing florals with the sharpeness of mint, but have fun and experiment just be sure not to use anything real stimulating.
To Make Your Pillow :
Choose a fabric that's aesthetically pleasing to you and soft to the touch, such as silk, satin, flannel or velveteen. The best size for an eye pillow is approximately 4 inches wide by 10 1/2 inches long.
To Make The Stuffing: Place all the ingredients except the essential oils in a medium size bowl and stirl to blend. Add the essential oils drop by drop and continue slowly stirring. Spoon the mixture into the pillow but do not over stuff. The herbal mixture will stay fresh for 6 months.
Recipe:
1 rounded 1/2 cup whole flax seeds
1 rounded 1/2 cup lavender buds
1 rounded 1/2 cup peppermint leaves
1 rounded 1/2 cup crushed rose petals
10 drops lavender essential oil
5 drops peppermint or rose otto essential oil.
Gently place the eye pillow over both eyes and the bridge of your nose, breathe deep and go to your dream world. If your bedroom is particularly warm or you have a headache, chill the pillow in the freezer for 30 minutes before apllying it.
