I was raised fundamentalist, but in a not very fun everyone-is-going-to-hell kind of way. I went to a very strict Christian school fo 8 years. I came out very messed up needing therapy. Most of the pictures of me as a kid I'm wearing hideous ankle length floral dresses. I have found a lot of flaws with the fundamentalist world. For example, they all get down on people for drinking because God says to honor the temple of God, but then they hold potlucks after church where everyone binges on junk food. A lot of the pastors are fat, so what about the sin of gluttony? They serve addictive caffeine filled coffee before the service in styrofoam cups that hurt God's creation... I could go on.
But... I do think it's great that you've found God. Just focus on the Bible instead of the man-made rules. I'm still searching for the perfect church. If I had to give a name to what I belive I'd call it "Environmental Chistianity". RestoringEden.org is a good website.
