There are many, many benefits to making your own baby food. It's cheap and not as difficult as it sounds. Your babies are exposed to more varied flavors, which helps them develop a more discerning palate.

This is a great web resource for making your own baby food. Be sure to read the FAQ. Certain foods contain nitrates and are not safe to feed babies younger than 8 months old.

What do you use to process yours? With the boys, I used the blender or one of those hand crank mills. My new supermixer has an attachment, but its a lot of $$.

Ive been playing with this the past few weeks, Im not really finding the economic value in it though. I use my hand blender which puree's it just fine.

I got some veggies this past week that Im going to try, Ive just been playing with fruit so far.

Banana's didnt go over well... at ALL

Maliah - are you making batches and freezing them or just preparing meal by meal?

Just meal by meal. I really just started trying it out before I go all gung ho and make huge batches.
