![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Nora is only in the 3rd percentile for weight Gavin is in the 10th. My doc. is checking Nora's weight every month. At the last visit she asked me how often she was eating (every 2 hours), how she is acting (very full and happy), stuff like that. She said that I do not need to be concerned if she is still eating often and I have plenty of milk and she is a happy baby. She is very happy and smiles and coos a ton. I am just worried because everyone I know is like "get a second opinion." She is built small but has a double chin and fat rolls on her thighs. What do you guys think? Should I be concerned that my boobs arent doing the job? Sydney was in the 99th percentile for weight |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | My twins were exactly like that. Lilliana was always in the less than 5th percentile. Her doctor had me bring her in regularly for weight checks because she was exclusively breastfed. As long as she continued to grow and stay within the same percentile, he said she was fine. Now her twin brother was bigger and always stayed in the 10th percentile. To this day she's still so much more tiny compared to other kids. That's just her genetic makeup I guess |

Annie is 3 pounds heavier and she is fine too. If she drinks well and often, plays, sleeps (well, like a baby which isn't all night as some would have you believe ) and is meeting milestones...and you feel she is okay...then she most likely is a little girl and active. Amanda is still little but really healthy and active and Annie is bigger and healthy. If she went from 3% to way under over a few checks that is one thing, but otherwise no worries if your instinct isn't alarming you. Sydney is a big girl and Nora isn't...nothing to do with your milk most likely. Think about it. They weren't born at 40 weeks, they aren't singletons, and Gavin is in the 10%. Why would Nora be 99% exactly like Sydney? Do you weigh the same as Ashley and have since birth? ![]() Also, just using a different scale can throw weight off a lot. They weighed Amanda on one scale one time and another the next and it said she lost some, and were freaking out. I knew better and made them weigh on the same scale as before and she had actually gained a bit (and had had a cold so of course she didn't gain quite as much that month). Are they tracking her on bf babies' norms or ff babies charts? They are different. You are doing great...and don't let anyone tell you otherwise

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | abbey was like that...she JUST made the 10% on her 6 yr checkup, and may drop back at her 8th cause she hasnt gained any wt in 2 yrs. She was always between the 3-7th She could just be petite. Unless she was not making other milestones or LOSING wt i would just watch her and (try) not to worry |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Didn't they also have ear issues or colds or something awhile back? That often slows it up a bit for a month or so too, and you obviously have plenty of milk or you would have noticed. Is she usually in that percentile? If usually around there it is just her...no biggie. If you told me she went from 10 to 3 for two months, was sick or not eating, dry..well, that is s different story. I don't really know why people think if all kids aren't 99 they are small (not you, I mean those around you with all the advice)..really they are just percentages compared to other kids and arbitrary if you think about it. Someone has to be in the lower percents to make the higher ones meaningful, so whatever is fine. It is each child's trend that counts, not the number, kwim?

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | My first two kids were in the 90th percentile for weight and height. My third was not even on the chart for weight and height. The doctor suggested giving formula. I asked if she was gaining weight properly. She said she is gaining, just slowly. Baby S had wet diapers, poops, was reaching her milestones, was happy and was gaining weight(just slowly). I did not slop breastfeeding her. I never gave her formula. She is in the 10th percentile for weight and the 5th percentile for height. She is happy and healthy and reaching all her milestones. I wouldn't worry. As long as they are eating well, having wet diapers, pooping regularly, reaching their milestones, and gaining weight, I would not worry at all. All kids are different. All kids grow differently.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | i agree with everyone else. A2 wasn't an itty bitty but has never gained weight 'well', according to the peds. A3 and A1 on the other hand were complete opposites. I think if Nora is eating well, is full, happy, and filing her diapers well enough she's just perfect... a delicate, beautiful little flower

so my instinct tells me everything is fine She is always BIG SMILES after eating. I will have to ask if they are looking at BF charts, I have no idea if they are or not | |
