I am a horrible mother

My child's behavior at times is too much for me to handle. I don't know what to do to make things better. I found a bunch of stuff that they destroyed of mine and a sibling's and totally freaked out. I hit my child several times and scared the crap out of them too. I am ashamed but do not know where to turn for fear someone will take them from me.
