There are no rodeos at the one up here either. But some nice horse shows. The cleidsdale's are beautiful.

The one we go to, the big e, is the eastern states exhibition, there is a building with exhibits from each of the new england states. THey have rides and animal shows too and a parade. And of course funnel cakes and fried dough.
I remember when I was a kid we used to go to a few different county fairs. They had horse racing. It was my grandpa who followed the circuit of the horses but my parents would bring us to the fair and visit grandpa. I loved it when we went to this one right down here on cape cod. My grandpa got a cottage every year down there to go to the fair all week, or maybe it was two. Many times when my parents went to visit on the weekend my grandpa and phyllis would let me stay out the week with them. It was fun visiting with grandpa and the fair and him and his friends (who also followed the horses around) would give me money to go play the games and stuff. And sometimes he would make a bet on the race for me.

I won like $40 bucks once on this horse called hokey pokey or something like that. I had told grandpa on the way down there that I liked how he drove better than my mom because she drives in the hokey pokey lane on the highway. So he bet the horse for me. Forty bucks was huge if you were twelve fifteen years ago.
They stopped having the horse racing at that fair like ten years ago. And I miss grandpa. But I still think of him when ever we go to the fair and see horse shows too.
