We're getting married!
Friday, November 11th, 2011 in Haymarket, Virginia.
We'll be hosting a small afternoon ceremony at our home and 'potluck' reception to follow at the Mountain's community clubhouse. We hope to see you all there! Please check out the informational tabs and RSVP section of our site to let us know your details

How do I get to your house? Where is the clubhouse?
Our address is blahblahblahinternetsafetyblah. To find maps from the area hotels to our house please check out the 'Directions' page, tabbed above. The directions from our house and Rt 15 to the clubhouse are on that page as well.

What time should I be at your house?
A full schedule of events can be found on the "Schedule" page, tabbed above.

What time is the reception?
The reception will immediately follow the ceremony. We (bride, groom, kids, parents of bride and groom and other immediate family members) will hang around for a few pictures while our guests make their way to the clubhouse. What is the 'dress code'?
Dressy casual to semi-formal. You don't have to wear a ball gown or full tails and top hat but please don't show up in jeans and a sweatshirt It may be chilly- be sure to bring a wrap or jacket. If it is unseasonably cold we will be moving the ceremony indoors.

What is the plan if the weather is bad?
We do plan on having our ceremony outside. However, VA weather in November is a bit of a roller coaster and you can't really tell what it will be like from day to day. Our 'backup' plan is to hold the ceremony in the clubhouse since our house will not accommodate the amount of people we expect will attend.

What's the food and drink situation?
Because we are aiming for a homey, 'DIY' style wedding we'd like to ask our guests to sign up to bring dishes for our potluck dinner. We have created a generalized 'menu' and would like to give our guests the opportunity to sign up for a type of dish and bring something within those specifications of their choosing. 2:00 PM: Ceremony begins-
Celebrant calls for commencement
Groom takes his place at the ceremony arch

2:45 PM: John, Sarah and kids walk back down the aisle and form a receiving line
2:50 PM: Short photography opportunity. Bride, groom and immediate family (Children, parents, then siblings and nieces/nephews) will be hanging out for a few more photographs with the photographer while our guests head over to the clubhouse for the reception
3:00 PM- 6 (9? 10?) PM- reception, dinner, music, good times.

We will be holding a potluck style dinner during the reception at the clubhouse and we'd love it if you brought and shared your favorite dishes with us!

We will be providing beer, wine, bottled water and soft drinks for our guests. In order to avoid an overload of 'chips and dips' we'd like to ask that you sign up for a dish or two using this form so that we can keep track of who is bringing what... whatever is leftover we will attempt to provide on our own.

We are expecting at least 40-50 people at minimum, and up to 70 at max, so please keep this in mind when choosing and preparing your dish.

We will be updating this form as slots fill up. Once a minimum number of people have volunteered for each item the option will be removed from the form; Signups will be posted on this page. There is no 'theme', so feel free to bring whatever you'd like to prepare according to the dish you have signed up to bring

To my knowledge, we do not know of anyone having specific, dangerous food allergies. We do have a few vegetarians in the group, and some of our guests are sensitive to dairy. Please keep these aspects in mind and do let us know if we need to make changes to our 'menu' below due to food allergies you or your fellow guests may have!

One last note- please include your (full) name in the comment box at the bottom of the signup form in addition to any other information you'd like us to know.

i'm still workin gon the website which is why i haven't 'published' it yet, though i may need to do it anyway just to get some feedback on it. i'm hoping to use it as a'hub' for keeping track of the guest situation, dinner, etc.

it's not. we can't afford the cost of the materials and i'm just not going to have the time to do it. plus, his mom and my mom both said theyd be more than happy to buy a dress (and i know they'd prefer that) so. i'll just be buying a dress. i'm going to make a fascinator to go with it.

oh and i found a photographer (i think)... we met on ravelry.com (knit/crochet/fiber site).. she's 3 hours away and needs practice work to build her portfolio, so all i need to do is pay for her gas to get down here. i'm stoked. i hope she's still up for doing it by the time the wedding rolls around. the one thing i really want to splurge on is a photographer but realistically we can't afford any of the nicer shutterbugs in the area. so i'm keeping my fingers crossed....
