yeah. I never liked anything that had a string because I was afraid of strangulation and they say if it can fit through a toilet paper tube then it's small enough for your child to choke on. At almost 2, I still don't let Kyan use small objects and he wasn't a kid who popped things into his mouth at all. I'm just overly cautious.

I know several people who swear by those amber "teething necklaces." They're too short for babies to get them in their mouths, but I suppose they could catch on something.

I was pretty skeptical about the whole concept, but my eyes have been opened...there are more things in heaven and earth, etc. etc.

Seems like a folk remedy that has more to do with sympathetic magic than any innate healing properties. It may make mom feel better but I doubt baby would really gain from it, and it is a choking hazard.
