5 days shy of being 18 months old Noah discovered tonight that he can get out of his crib. Not only has he taught himself to escape in one evening, but he escapes in stealth mode. There is no noise to alert a careful parent that he has jumped ship until you turn around to a smiling "Hi Mommy!"

Add to it that he escapes to sit on the potty and well...

What's a mommy to do?

I know just how you feel. Mine did the same... only he's a bit older. So we were forced to switch to the big boy bed.

Oh boy, the good ole days of knowing he'd be just where you left him are gone.

Lil pill has this habit of sneaking up behind me and scaring the chit out of me...

We had to take Gabe out by his crib by that age because he kept climbing out. My pediatrician told me it was one of the number one causes of broken legs in that age group because they climb out and get their legs caught.

We had to move CM at 11 months . He got himself halfway over (and caught by mommy) and we moved him into a bed a couple days later.

We never used a crib. That means I am superior to all of you crib users. Prisoners!

al dente. He had only been in it full time for a month when he did it. CM wasn't meant to be caged .

We had that problem at 9 months and we drilled our own holes in the frame to drop it all but to the floor.

And we've been planning to move him over to the spare room so that we can just use the nursery for Jarrod - but of course we haven't actually emptied that room yet or anything...

I think I know what I'll be doing this weekend. In the meantime, I've pulled the futon almost to his door and I guess I'll sleep there.
