 The bill will: Spend $938 billion on expanding insurance coverage, including $464 billion in subsidies to help uninsured people buy coverage.-Expand Medicaid coverage to 16 million additional people. -Require many employers to offer coverage for their workers. -Collect $69 billion in penalties from uninsured individuals and employers for non-coverage. -Provide coverage through an insurance exchange to 24 million people. -Reduce the number of uninsured by 32 million people, but leave 23 million (including illegal immigrants) not covered. -Cut Medicare spending by $455 billion from currently-projected levels. -Not affect next month’s scheduled 21 percent cut in payment rates to doctors who treat Medicare patients. -Produce a net reduction in federal deficits of $143 billion.

| Yes, we are watching.  Now they are voting on the recommit thing. I swear it's like a bunch of unruly kids arguing half the time and they waste a hell of amount of time.

After staring at the door for many years, it finally occured to me to go look for the open window. I discovered I like sunlight and warmth much more than peeling old doors anyway, so I climbed out the window and reveled in my discovery. | Yes...what a bunch of idiots. We just had a vote, one side one, and then we have to vote again to see if the vote you just had was real. What a crock of crap. They didn't pass that fortunately, but how stupid to have it

| It isn't the bill I wanted at all, but it beats not having one and I think there are possibilities to make it better.

| i can honestly say that i'm afraid of what this bill will bring. they know it will cause job loss, the highest ranking member of the house financial committee said that it would create rather than reduce the countries fiscal problems, companies like the one my husband works for will most likely have to close - their clients who are medical field related wont be able to purchase their services and they themselves wont be able to afford the care rates now imposed - b/c they're a small company that doesn't meet the "small company definition." so even though they currently offer fantastic med benefits they're still be fined, taxed and charged as the verbiage stands
