Pretty much done.. so we decided to prepare for next year.

and summer isn't even OVER! anyway, come to find out the Pressure treated wood we were using is treated with many cancer causing agents..

thank god the home depot for smart men int he lumber area, and the good return policy on wood..
I returned the 10 footer and 12 footer heavy sob's to them and used the in store credit to buy douglas fur we decided to make smaller boxes.. we have 4ft wide by 8 ft long raised beds. Last night we completed our 2nd one.. Today i worked on the 3rd one but i'm already sore and exhausted. I will take pics once completed. we also will build two more once the squash is done. and the herbs die out i guess.. if they do.. Cuz that garden is still growing wonderfully.
Garden 2 and 3 are growing like CRAZY! Lots of squash and mellons and everything in between. We did transfer some cabbage to the new gardens and some cucumbers.. and tomatoes, however we aren't too sure how they will do. I also transfered 6 sunflowers.. 3 of them yesterday went limp but then this morning i looked at them and they were all spunky again...so i'm hoping the other 3 i planted today will spunk up tomorrow.
I have these sunflower tree's, they sprout like trees, I love them! We've already harvest seeds for next year. Now i know that during germination and the start of the stock growing they needs lots of water, i noticed the difference from the heardy sunflowers in the back yard compared to the ones growing in the front.
Almost time to cut back some flowers too in the front. My tiger lilly's already blossomed, my dahlia's never came up... and my petunias are almost all shriveld up. My gladiola's are done blooming too, the wind storm we had the other day snapped the 3 remaining.
When do I plant all of the bulbs i've collected? the soil is still warm right now, but when winter comes, doesn't that make it more difficult to dig in? hmmm.. what can we put into the soil to richen it more? We use steer manuar anyway as our soil..
