We have big problems going to non-kosher events due to our level of religiousness. It's a pain in the pooper, but yea, we keep it high. It's my hubby's family and my Mom really who have sent on the super religious vibes to us. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Isn't it just no pork and certain cuts of beef plus not combining dairy with meat? Or is there more to it than that? Either way I'd like to learn more

There is more too it then just not eating pork, certain parts of the cow and seperating dairy from meat. It's a lot to explain. If you guys really are interested, here is a link where you can learn all about it. It is long, but it's really interesting and you'll learn a lot. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | That article was very fascinating. I'm starting to understand why it is important to look for the kosher symbol on food, and why in the big cities there are kosher restaurants. I did find it slightly humorous that is specifies that grains must be "insect free". I wouldn't want to eat grains with insects in them

I think as long as I found somewhere that sold kosher food it would be not hard to do.One time I was watching Wife Swap and the one family was very kosher where they even had two ovens and seperate dishes the new wife was very bitchy about the whole thing.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | When I used to work at the homeless shelter there was one guy who used to stay there who was Jewish. Now I'm realizing why he used to get so stressed out at mealtime. I used to do my best to accomodate him with a separate meal, but now I'm realizing that pretty much nothing must have been kosher. I kind of feel bad. So now I"m wondering about what happens when Jewish families become homeless. That must be so hard to eat kosher during that type of situation. Are there kosher soup kitchens in the Jewish communities?
