When I've got specific stuff in mind I do much better to make a good list in my spread sheet and print it out. I have the following slots.. item, cost, qty, subtotal, coupons, cpn qty, cpn total, and total. I do that for each store I have to go to.

I stock up on stuff so canned/non-perishable items are bought every 4-6 months, as they go on a good sale, or if I REALLY need to replenish my stock . So I typically get stuff that goes bad or gets used fast.. milk, eggs, cheese, butter, fruits, veggies, cereal, hot dogs, sausage, red beans and rice, and ice cream randomly.

We could go a month with only buying the perishable items .

Yeah since I've been doing the coupons and CVSing I've gotten enough shampoo/conditioner, tooth paste, bar soap, body wash, tooth paste, dish soap, and laundry detergent to last for months. Just a few weeks ago I spent less that $20 for 3 months easy of laundry soap.

You know, there's never a coupon for the stuff I buy, since I get mainly bulk staples and fresh produce.

I don't buy any snack foods except for the HEB brand wheat thins...no cookies, chips, we don't drink soda, we rarely eat breakfast cereal, and we make our own bread, hummus, veggie burgers, etc.

Sometimes WF has their 365 brand tofu on sale, and I stock up and freeze a bunch. I use A&H laundry detergent, which is cheaper than Tide even with a coupon, but I'm about to start making my own. And HEB has their "WOW" deals at the checkout lane - frequently toothpaste, shampoo, etc. - so I stock up on those from time to time.

Like tonight - we're having Lentil Soup that we'll make using stock I made and froze a couple of weeks ago, biscuits that we'll make ourselves, and mustard greens from the farmer's market. What would there be a coupon for in that?

I need dirty hippie coupons!

Yeah I'm not so much on the from scratch yet. I'm really lucky to figure out what to make for dinner let alone make it from scratch.

I think we currently have 7 tubes of tooth paste.

I got my Purex at Kroger on sale and with a Q. I just cracked into the first of 6 bottles I got.

Oh and I've cut myself off from buying body wash. I have 8 in the cabinet and 2 in the shower.
